What a tremendous response to the first of what I hope will be our annual ‘Orange Your World’ on the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls Day!!
On the actual day – 25th November – everyone at our Young People and Domestic Abuse Conference looked resplendent in their orange clothing and accessories – and during the day both at the conference and through the generosity of our local partner organisations you raised over £300 for the Freedom Programme delivery in Swale!
I would like to thank Moat Housing who made cakes and special orange ribbons to sell, and AmicusHorizon, Swale Borough Council, Swale CVS, Swale CAB and KCC who all shook our orange pots and collected from their teams.
I would also like to thanks Kent Fire and Rescue who donated a whopping £500, in lieu of swapping their uniforms for orange ones – although that would have been a sight to see, I do think it might have been a tad dangerous!
We are hoping to make this an annual event so don’t throw away your orange outfits yet!
Thanks again and take care of yourselves
