We offer a session on economic abuse, for women engaged with SATEDA. Whether you have experienced economic abuse, suspect it may be happening to you, or simply want to learn more, this programme offers vital knowledge and support in a safe and understanding environment.

What is the Economic Abuse Programme?

The Economic Abuse Programme is a quarterly, two-hour online session delivered via Microsoft Teams, specifically created for women supported by SATEDA. The programme is designed to raise awareness, provide education, and support survivors in understanding their experiences.

Frequently asked questions

The programme is open to women who are currently or have previously been engaged with SATEDA, including those who:

  • Have experienced economic abuse

  • Are recovering from post-separation abuse

  • Want to learn how to identify the signs of economic abuse

  • Seek to better understand the impacts on themselves and their children

You will learn about economic abuse in a non-judgemental, women-centred space.

Economic abuse is a form of domestic abuse where one partner controls another’s access to money, resources, or financial independence. It is often used to isolate, manipulate, and control a person, making it harder for them to leave the relationship or recover after it ends. Economic abuse can happen during a relationship and after separation.
