Combating isolation for women in prison one letter at a time

Today is National Writing Day so why not join Project Hope? It’s our letter writing initiative to combat isolation among women in UK prisons, where we know that 2 in 3 women are domestic abuse survivors.

Receiving the written replies from women who write back to our letters is beautiful and sometimes heavy but most importantly it’s encouraging and empowering and reminds us that Project Hope is needed.

The positive impact these letters have is incredible. Be a part of it!

If you’d like to donate writing materials or your time by joining our team of writers putting pen and compassion to paper, please get in touch with our wonderful Volunteer Coordinator, Valerie: valerie.williams@sateda.org and she will get you started.

All we ask is that you commit to writing a minimum of 5 letters or cards a month!
