Make a donation

SATEDA needs to raise every penny in order to help vulnerable women and children in our community. We rely on the support of donors like you to help those impacted by domestic abuse.

We also warmly welcome:

  • donations of new or unused items which can be used as prizes for our various fundraising events, raffles and quizzes throughout the year
  • donations of envelopes, cards and stamps to be used for Project Hope, our letter-writing initiative with women in UK prisons
  • donations of high-quality, clean women and children’s clothes for us to give for free to women and children who can’t afford them, via our Kent & Medway Community Sharewear

Can you donate prizes for our fundraising events?

We’re always looking for new or unused items and services to be won as prizes for our fundraisers. Over the years we’ve received generous donations from local businesses giving vouchers for their services, supermarkets donating sweet treats and games for children, individuals making hampers, and more. Email valerie.williams@sateda.org to organise a drop off!

easter cards and letter project hope

Can you donate Project Hope items?

Project Hope is our letter-writing initiative with women in prisons to help combat isolation. We have partnered with 4 UK prisons, and we wouldn’t be able to do it without the time and compassion from our volunteer letter writers, and the much-needed donations of paper, cards, postcards and stamps we receive. Email valerie.williams@sateda.org to organise a drop off!

Valerie and Kent & Medway Community Sharewear

Can you donate women and children’s clothes?

We run the Kent & Medway Community Sharewear from our Chatham office and we’re always looking for high-quality, clean clothes for women and children. We need them to be clean because we don’t have washing facilities on site and we need them to be high-quality because the bare minimum we offer is dignity. Email valerie.williams@sateda.org to organise a drop off!

Organise your own fundraiser!

🎮 Give the game away! Why not play your favourite board, video or card game with your friends, with a donation to enter

🎨 Get creative! Have you been knitting, painting, tie-dyeing? Whatever your craft, set up an Instagram to showcase your work and ask for a donation in return

🏃 Reps! Pick a physical challenge. Could be a jog, press ups, running up the stairs… and for every pound you get donated, complete one rep and share it on social media

🌱 Green fingers! Who can grow the most impressive greenery in, say, two months? You and pals each donate to take part, pick a plant, set a time limit, nourish it and watch it grow

If you don’t have time to organise a fundraiser and you can’t afford to make a donation, please follow us on social media (@satedacharity) and engage with our content by liking, sharing and commenting to raise public awareness of domestic abuse and its gendered-nature. The more we talk about it, the more we will break cycles of abuse and the more victims we will protect.
