Power 2 Change

Are you looking for a supportive space to rebuild your confidence? Power 2 Change is a domestic abuse support group in Kent that helps women recover, connect, and regain control of their lives.

What is Power 2 Change?

The Power 2 Change recovery programme is the next supportive step, following the Own My Life course. As part of our wider domestic abuse support group work in Kent, this programme focuses on rebuilding self-esteem and confidence in a safe, friendly, and non-judgemental environment.

Participants shape the programme by contributing to sessions and organising social opportunities, while exploring themes of women’s rights and empowerment.

This is a space where friendships flourish, connections are made, and loneliness is reduced.

SATEDA delivers Power 2 Change to women in Swale who have experienced domestic abuse and want to rebuild their lives.

SATEDA runs Power 2 Change for 14 weeks, for 2 hours each week, both in person and online. These start in September, January and April (there are no sessions during school holiday weeks).

During the sessions women are supported to rebuild through connections with other women and self-led activities. This creates a space where women can talk about topics which interest them, whilst doing an activity they’ve arranged together.

A key part of the programme is that women learn to change patterns of behaviour learned during the abusive relationship.

Yes, all the services we provide to women and children are free thanks to grants and fundraisers.

This Power 2 Change service has been funded by Collyer Ferguson.

To help cover our costs and enable more women to benefit please consider donating where you can.
