SATEDA offers counselling to women in Swale and Medway who have experienced domestic abuse and want support from a counsellor to process their experience.
You can also access counselling if you’re still in an abusive relationship, but we recommend you complete the Freedom Programme first, which then ties into counselling.
Our counselling services take place all year-round, Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm. We provide 12 sessions with an option to extend this by up to another 6.
The sessions are usually weekly and agreed between you and your counsellor.
We’re pleased to deliver this service in partnership with Edify.
You’ll speak either face to face or online to a qualified or student counsellor to discuss your feelings, problems and associated issues in a confidential and safe space.
The goal of counselling is to help you understand yourself better and come to terms with what has happened to you, gaining greater self-esteem and self-confidence in the process.
Yes, all the services we provide to women and children are free thanks to grants and fundraisers.
This counselling service has been funded by the Brook Trust.
To help cover our costs and enable more women to benefit please consider donating where you can.
