Counselling
We provide emotional support through domestic abuse counselling so you can process and make sense of the abuse you endured and the impact its had and is having on you.
Process and heal
As part of our journey of support, we offer our counselling service to women to have a safe space in which to receive guidance to process and heal from the abuse and violence they’ve experienced.
The sessions allow women to experience what it feels like to speak their truth without it being used as a weapon against them. It’s vital for women to experience what a safe relationship can feel like with their counsellor and then once they experience what this type of relationship can feel like, they can then look at mirroring that relationship outside the therapy room with other people.

*Our counselling waiting list is currently closed – please see our other therapeutic services: Freedom Programme, Power 2 Change and Own My Life.
SATEDA offers counselling to women in Swale and Medway who have experienced domestic abuse and want support from a counsellor to process their experience.
You can also access counselling if you’re still in an abusive relationship, but we recommend you complete the Freedom Programme first, which then ties into counselling.
Our counselling services take place all year-round, Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm. We provide 12 sessions with an option to extend this by up to another 6.
The sessions are usually weekly and agreed between you and your counsellor.
We’re pleased to deliver this service in partnership with Edify.

“These 50 minutes a week was a lifesaver. She made me think of problems in my life that I would never have thought of. She then helped me work on them & gave me different ways of dealing with them. I will miss our chats & her kind, gentle understanding of my situation.”
