SATEDA delivers Own My Life to women in Swale who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse and want to make sense of this experience.
SATEDA runs Own My Life for 12 weeks, for 2 hours each week, both in person and online. These start in September, January and April (there are no sessions during school holiday weeks).
During the sessions women are supported to regain ownership of their lives following an abusive relationship using a range of learning methods including short videos, structured discussions and activities.
Each woman completes their own “Own My Story Journal” which provides women with space for reflective practice and includes all the information provided during the course. This becomes an ongoing resource after the course has finished.
Yes, all the services we provide to women and children are free thanks to grants and fundraisers.
To help cover our costs and enable more women to benefit please consider donating where you can.
Groups are small and informal. Participants find it more than just a programme as it offers the benefits of a support group.
